| the urge got bad enough, so here we are... a new colly from me. i was |
| sure the previous one released in 2010 was my swansong for the ascii |
| scene, but after completing this one i feel pleased that it wasn't. it |
| was quite terrible at first to start to put together some logos. i had |
| forgotten everything i regained in 2010. starting over once again. now, |
| while looking back the process of making this colly, i feel that my |
| memory loss was a good thing. as i could not remember how i did it |
| before, i ended up trying something completely different. of course my |
| so called style in logos is the same, as i didn't have enough time to |
| start inventing completely a new style. but the other things, the |
| pictures, that I did here and there are something i haven't been doing |
| too much in the past. |

Makes no sense? Well... it doesn't. Japanese have their own writing system
to write foreign words. But, it is lacking, because it consists of syllables
and it can't represent all the syllables in English language. Therefore a
thing like "Divine Stylers" become "Devainaa Sutairaasu". To make the matters
worse, they also try to make the foreign words written in katakana to be
more like how they sound when properly pronounsed. So, "super" becomes
"suupaa", "church" becomes "chaachi", "of" becomes "ofu" and "the" becomes
"ze". Yeah, let me say it out loud what you think: what the fuck!
Many Japanese spend 10 years in school learning English. The most of the time
goes into vocabulary. And that consists of remembering what those words are
in katakana. Meaning, that after school they perfectly know that "cheese" is
"chiizu". Therefore you can meet a Japanese business manager, who can barely
say "herro" and "naisu to miito chuu". Great. Anyway, if you're interested in
the topic, Internet can tell the story in a lot's better and more interesting
way than my ascii colly ever could.
